Donald G. Scott
Bankruptcy. For nearly 30 years, Mr. Scott has represented creditors and debtors in Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings; debtors and debtors-in-possession in continued management and operation of businesses and properties; actions to recover estate assets; and litigation of objections to claims, automatic stays, nondischargeability, and preferences. He coordinates with United States Trustees in compliance with reporting requirements and debtor-in-possession accounts. He prepares and presents motions, applications, complaints, answers, orders, and reports necessary to the administration of debtors' estates; negotiation of debtors' use of cash collateral, debtor-in-possession financing, sales of assets, and assumption and rejection of executory contracts and lease agreements; and preparation and seeking of approval for disclosure statements and plans of reorganization.
Commercial Litigation. Mr. Scott's general civil trial experience includes litigation in both state and federal courts. His appellate experience includes briefing and arguments before state and federal courts. He has extensive experience coordinating with national and in-house counsel, co-counsel, and local counsel and he has managed individual and multi-party claims through litigation, arbitration, mediation, and settlement.
