A. Jeffrey Misler

Mr. Misler represents clients in business, real estate, franchising, and commercial transactions.  His practice includes representation of automobile manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, equipment financers, business and banking clients in transactional matters, commercial litigation, business organization, business reorganization, and workouts and business bankruptcies.
 
Prior to entering the private practice of law, Mr. Misler directed the legal operations of and served as general counsel to the former Farm Credit System Capital Corporation, an organization formed to acquire and service problem loans and assets of the national farm credit system.  He also served as the general counsel/deputy general counsel of the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of New Orleans/Jackson and the Farm Credit Banks of Jackson, which were part of the farm credit system.

Insolvency and Commercial Bankruptcy.  (A) Manufacturer and Creditor Representation.  Represents automobile, truck, and equipment manufacturers and their credit divisions in dealership and franchisee workouts, business reorganizations, and business bankruptcies.  Performs asset recovery of automobiles, specialized heavy trucks, construction equipment, and agricultural equipment from defaulting franchisees, lessees, and purchasers in business reorganization cases and bankruptcies and through state replevin, detinue, and claim and delivery actions.  Advises and represents lenders on loan forbearance, debt recovery, and loan enforcement.  (B) Debtor Representation.  Represents financially troubled businesses in facilitating debt restructuring, workouts, and reorganizations; advises troubled businesses on refinancing, restructuring, and asset sales in bankruptcy reorganization cases and in non-bankruptcy forbearance and restructuring matters.

Real Estate.  Business and litigation counsel for regional commercial real estate and property management companies in property acquisition, leasing, lease restructuring, lease enforcement, and property rights matters.  Represents real estate and property management companies in state court collection and enforcement matters and lease recovery, enforcement, and collection in bankruptcy/business reorganization case.

Commercial.  General business counseling, corporate organizational assistance, asset acquisitions, and representation of institutional and individual clients in commercial, real estate, and asset-based lending transactions and transactional documentation.
