Greg T. Spies
Mr. Spies handles matters involving commercial litigation, construction litigation, and transactional health care. For more than 25 years, Mr. Spies has provided construction litigation services, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation on behalf of owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, materialmen, and observation and testing agencies. He provides commercial litigation services for large and small businesses as well as individuals, and he provides transactional advice to health care professionals, including nursing homes, physicians, and ancillary providers.
Construction Litigation. Mr. Spies has extensive experience in construction litigation, having mediated, arbitrated, and litigated disputes on behalf of owners, general contractors, subcontractors, materialmen, design professionals and testing agencies. His experience includes lien perfection and enforcement, breach of contract, and tort claims as well as defect and failure claims. He represents individuals and small and large businesses in contract disputes and non-competition agreements.
Health Care. Mr. Spies represents nursing homes, physicians, physician groups, and ancillary providers in a panoply of transactions, including credentialing and medical staff issues, employment and non-competition agreements, STARK and Medicare fraud and abuse issues, business organization, consolidation, dissolution, and licensure.

Mr. Spies is Chairman of the Board of Directors of SR Foundation, Inc., a corporation that assists a not-for-profit nursing home serving predominantly Medicaid residents, and he is a Board Member of Swope Ridge Housing Corporation, a low-income senior housing project. Mr. Spies is a longstanding and active volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America on both the unit level and as a district volunteer. He is a former district membership chairperson, former district Friends of Scouting Family chairperson, and is active in the Friends of Scouting family and community campaigns and School Night for Scouting membership drives. At the scouting unit level, Mr. Spies has been the Den Leader, Cub Master, Assistant Scout Master, Quartermaster, Mic-O-Say Advisor, and Summer Camp Master, and he currently serves as Scout Master of one of the area’s largest troops.
