Greg Spies handles matters involving commercial litigation, construction litigation, and transactional health care. For more than 35 years, Mr. Spies has provided construction litigation services, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation on behalf of owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, materialmen, and observation and testing agencies. He provides commercial litigation services for large and small businesses as well as individuals, and he provides transactional advice and dispute resolution services to health care professionals, including nursing homes, physicians, and ancillary providers. He has served as a court appointed receiver in both Missouri and Kansas and as a neutral in mediation.

Mr. Spies has extensive experience in construction litigation, having mediated, arbitrated, and litigated disputes on behalf of owners, general contractors, subcontractors, materialmen, design professionals and testing agencies. His experience includes lien perfection and enforcement, breach of contract, and tort claims as well as defect and failure claims. He represents individuals and small and large businesses in contract disputes and non-competition agreements.

Mr. Spies represents individuals and small and large businesses in litigation involving contract, tort, fraud, negligent misrepresentation and business interference claims as well as non-competition agreements and real estate disputes. Mr. Spies has asserted and defended professional liability claims involving attorneys, accountants, architects, and engineers.

Mr. Spies represents nursing homes, physicians, physician groups, and ancillary providers in a panoply of transactions, including credentialing and medical staff issues, employment and non-competition agreements, business organization, consolidation, dissolution, and licensure. He represents nursing homes and physicians in litigation, arbitration and mediation of employment, professional review actions and contract matters.

For over fifteen years Mr. Spies served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of SR Foundation, Inc., a corporation that assists a not-for-profit nursing home serving predominantly Medicaid residents, and also served as an officer and Board Member of Swope Ridge Gardens Housing Corporation, a low-income senior housing project. Mr. Spies is a longstanding and active volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America on both the unit level and as a district volunteer. He has been recognized with the Silver Beaver Award, District Award of Merit and unit awards. He is a former district membership chairperson, former district Friends of Scouting Family chairperson, and is active in the Investment in Character (Friends of Scouting) family and community campaigns and School Night for Scouting membership drives.  At the scouting unit level, Mr. Spies has been Den Leader, Cub master, Scoutm, Assistant Scoutmaster, Quartermaster, Mic-O-Say Advisor, and Summer Camp Master.
